TWO NEW PENTHIMIA SPECIES FROM CHINA (HOMOPTERA,CICADELLIDAE)

Abstract

This paper describes two new species of the genus Penthimia collected in China. Type specimens are deposited in Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University.1 Penthimia fulviguttata sp.nov.(Figs. 1-5) Length (incl.teg.): 4.5?mm. This species is similar to Penthimia undata Cai et Shen,but differs in having a larger body, a pronotum with an ochreus spot,and having several setae on the middle area and side of the pygofer. Holotype ♂,Changbaishan, Baihe(42°28′N,128°06′E),Jilin Province, 13 Aug. 1996,coll. by LI Zi-Zhong.2 Penthimia maolanensis sp.nov.(Figs. 6-10)Length (incl.teg.):♂4.5-4.8?mm, ♀4.7-5.0?mm. This new species is allied to Penthimia juno but can be distinguished from latter by its larger body size,scutellum without longitudinal carina and end area of the pygofer side being broadly rounded. Holotype ♂,paratypes 3♂♂,2♀♀,Maolan(25°20′N,107°48′E),Guizhou Province,15 May 1998.
