Abstract
This paper introduces the definition of metacognitive knowledge, and concludes the significance of metacognitive knowledge in reading teaching. It can promote their motivation, increase their responsibility, highlight the efficiency of metacognitive strategies, and distinguish the good readers from the poor readers. The study of metacognitive knowledge can direct our reading comprehension instruction.
