Abstract

[Objective]The research aimed to study the stability of magnolol and honokiol in different solvents. [Method]The main assessment indexs were solution color, clarity and content of the active ingredients. The content of magnolol and honokiol in Magnolia bark extract were determined by HPLC to investigate their stability in different solvents. The solvents were solubilizer aqueous solution,Glycerin,Propylene glycol,1,3-butanediol,dehydrated alcohol,Methanol,50 % and 95 % Ethanol. [Result]Magnolia bark extract solvated in 1,3-Butanediol had the best stability and no significant difference in solution color, clarity and content of the active ingredients. [Conclusion]1,3-butylene glycol as solvent related products to develop with magnolia bark extract, which can effectively improve the stability and quality of the product.
