Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the situation of irrational drug use involved in outpatient prescriptions in our hospital so as to reduce the incidence of medication error and disputes and to facilitate safe and rational drug use and the correct implementation of Prescription Administration Measure enforced from May 1,2007.METHODS:A total of 12,000 outpatient prescriptions of western medicines from Sep.2007 to Aug.2008 were subjected to a retrospective statistical analysis.RESULTS:265 prescriptions were irrational,accounting for 2.2% of the total prescriptions reviewed.CONCLUSION:The drug use in our hospital was rational on the whole,but clinicians and pharmacists should attach great importance to the learning on expertise.
