Abstract
Objective To prove the clinical therapeutic efficacy of stability ClO 2 gargle (Kouqiangshuang gargle) in the treatment of gingivitis. Methods In this double blind clinical trial, one hundred healthy male and female students of 17-20 years old with gingivitis were divided into two groups at random. As a topical medication, Kouqiangshuang gargle was applied to the students of experimental group and Koutai was applied to the control group. After seven days, the gingival index and plaque index were recorded. Results The average gingival index and plaque index statistically significantly(P0.001) reduced 0.66 and 0.91 in the experimental group respectively, while there was no significant difference when compared with the control group of 0.64, 1.06(P0.50) respectively. Conclusion There were obvious efficacy that kouqiangshuang gargle treated gingivitis, controled dental plaque, no difference compared with koutai gargle. Kouqiangshuang gargle had a good taste, no any side effects in the clinical test. Therefore it is a new gargle, and deserves to be expansively applied clinically.
