Abstract

Objective To detect the correlation between metalloproteinase-2 and neck lymph node metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Zemography was used to study the content of MMP-2 in OSCC,and statistical method was used to analyse the association between the content of MMP-2 matrix metalloproteinases and the invasive and metastatic clinical and pathological index of OSCC.Results The results showed that MMP-2 existed in all the OSCC tumor tissues, normal oral mucosa member and plasma, and that the increase of the content of MMP-2 in both the tumor tissue and plasma related to tumor invasion and neck lymph node metastasis. Conclusion MMP-2 could be considered as an index judging preasence of neck lymph node metastasis.
