Expressions and clinical significance of CXCR4 chemokine receptor,ER and PR in thyroid cancer

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the expressions and clinical significance of CXC chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4),estrogen receptors(ER)and progesterone receptors(PR)in thyroid cancer,and offer a basis for seeking new target in thyroid cancer therapy.METHODS:The S-P immunohistochemical technique was used to test the different expressions of CXCR4,ER and PR in tissues of thyroid cancer,thyroid adenoma,nodular goiter and normal thyroid,The relation of the expressions of CXCR4,ER and PR in thyroid cancer with pathological types,the state of lymphatic metastasis,age and sex was analyzed.RESULTS:The postive rates of CXCR4,ER and PR in tissues of thyroid cancer,thyroid adenoma,nodular goiter and normal thyroid were 100.0%,50.0%,30.0%,0;46.2%,10.0%,10.0%,5.0%;43.6%,8.0%,8.0% and 5.0%,respectively.The postive rates of CXCR4,ER and PR in thyroid cancer were high(χ2=102.482,P=0.000;χ2=35.955,P=0.000;χ2=36.305,P=0.000),and the postive rate of CXCR4 was closely related to the pathological types of thyroid cancer and the state of lymphatic metastasis(χ2=10.243,P=0.001;χ2=10.805,P=0.013),however,the positive expression did not related to age and sex(χ2=0.000,P=1;χ2=0.000,P=1),but it is contrary with the postive rates of ER and PR in thyroid cancer.CONCLUSIONS:The postive rates of CXCR4,ER and PR in thyroid cancer are high,and the postive rates of them are closely related to the pathological types of thyroid cancer and the state of lymphatic metastasis.The postive expressions of ER and PR in thyroid cancer is closely related to well-differentiated thyroid cancer.The postive expressions of CXCR4,ER and PR in thyroid cancer might be used as the marks to evaluate the prognosis.
