The significance of ER,PR expression in thyroid tumors

Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of ER、PR expression in thyroid tumors.Methods 36 cases with thyroid cancer and 36 cases with benign thyroid in Jiexi People's Hospital from March 2009 to August 2011 were selected and divided into the experimental group and the control group.Analyzing all patients' thyroid tissue with SP immunohistochemical staining.In the end,the positive rate of ER,PR in patients' thyroid tissue were detected.Results Compared with the control group,the experimental group had a significant higher ER,PR positive rate(P 0.05);In the experimental group,patients with lymphatic metastasis had a much higher ER,PR positive rate than those non-metastatic ones(P 0.05).Conclusion ER,PR expression has a indicative meaning in the thyroid tumor,so it can be used as a indicator for detection of thyroid tumor degree.
