Abstract

【Objective】To investigate the effectiveness and side effects of loop electrosurgical excision procedure(LEEP) for the treatment of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN).【Methods】 Seventy six patients of CIN treated by LEEP were followed up in our department. The incidences of residual and the recurrence were reviewed prospectively.【Results】 The total cure rate was 91.1%(70/76) after LEEP for first 6 months. The rate of residual was 2.63%(2/76).Relapse rate was 3.95%(3/76) patients in the first year and 1.37%(1/76) in the second year.During operation,it took 14±0.5 minutes and lost 15±2.5 mL blood, and the recovery time for post-operation was 31.38±3.25d.There were adverse reactions such as infection, pain and local swell.【Conclusion】 LEEP is a kind of effective and safe method for the treatment of CIN.But the patients need to be followed for a long time, especially in the first two years.
