Abstract

Purpose:To analyze the angiographic manifestations and embolization treatment of craniofacial hemangioma racemosm.Materials and Methods:There were 20 cases including 17 males and 3 females with age range 9 to 42 years, average of 28 years.Angiogram was taken for left and right external carotid artery by Seldinger technique.8 cases received preoperative embolization with gelatin spone,of which 2 cases also received radical embolization with silk segments. Results:The rate of successful angiography and diagnosis was 100%.In 8 cases withleed preoperative embolization, the intraoperative bleeding and blood transfusion could be decreased. In 2 cases of radical embolization, observation for 2~5 months no recurrence was found. Conclusion:Selectively angiography is the only method for diagnosing craniofacial hemangioma racemosm.Embolization is the safety and the best method to treat craniofacial hemangioma racemose.
