Effects of Massage and Stuck Needles on Cervical Jiaji Points on Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy

Objective:To observe the clinical effectiveness of massage and stuck needles on cervical Jiaji points in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.Method:Eighty-four patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were randomly divided in to 3 groups:treatment group(combined massage and stuck needles treatment),acupuncture control group,and massage control group(n=28 each).The comprehensive curative effectiveness,as well as the accumulated points on symptoms and signs was assessed before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate in treatment group was higher than in control groups(P0.05,0.01).The improvement of accumulated points on symptoms and signs in treatment group was significantly better than in control groups(P0.05,0.01).There was no significant difference in the improvement of accumulated points on symptoms and signs between two control groups.Conclusion:The curative effectiveness of massage and stuck needles on cervical Jiaji points in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy is more satisfactory than acupuncture or massage treatment alone.
