Abstract

Objective It is to discuss the clinical efficacy and safety of Aripiprazole on schizophrenia. Methods 60 patients who measured up to CCMD-3 criteria for schizophrenia were randomly divided into group A(30 cases) and group B(30 cases) and given Aripiprazole and Olanzapine by mouth respectively. The curative effect was evaluated with PANSS,CGI and BPRS and the safety was evaluated with TESS and laboratory examination after treatment for six weeks. Results The total scores of PANSS after treatment for six weeks were significantly lower than that before treatment in the two groups(P0.01).There was no significant difference on total effective rate between the two groups. The incidence rate of untoward reaction in group A was low and the degree was slight, and the patients could tolerate it.Conclusion Aripiprazole is an effective and safe antipsychotic which is similar to Olanzapine.
