Abstract

William Faulkner shows a great sympathy to the tragic life of the female protagonist Emily in the novel A Rose for Emily.Through the feminism perspectives including the analysis of social background,family atmosphere and marital system,the paper points out the fact that the immoral Southern morality and patriarchy severely destroyed and distorted the spiritual world of Southern females.
