Abstract

In order to improve the added value of lotus leaves processing,the extraction process of flavones from lotus leaves is optimized by response surface methodology.Along with this,the antioxidant activity of the extract is evaluated by DPPH·and the·OH scavenging assays.The optimal extraction parameters are determined as follows:the dry lotus leaf as the sample, extraction solvent 60% ethanol;material/liquid ratio 1∶85;reflux temperature 80 ℃.The extraction rate of flavones from lotus leaves is 4.01 mg/g under these optimal extraction conditions.The flavones extract of lotus leaves exhibits strong antioxidant activity.It exhibits stronger DPPH·scavenging capacity than the·OH.
