Transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasonic diagnosis and differentiation of ectopic pregnancy

Objective To investigate ultrasonic diagnosis and differentiation of ectopic pregnancy. Methods Sixty cases of suspected intrauterine specific ectopic pregnancy were selected to take transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound examinations. Ultrasound results were analyzed and compared with the surgical pathological results. Results Transvaginal ultrasound was more accurate than transabdominal ultrasound(P 0. 05). Sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value of transvaginal ultrasound were higher than those of transabdominal ultrasound(P 0. 05). Accuracies of transvaginal ultrasound on uterine horn pregnancy,scar pregnancy,cervical pregnancy,isthmus pregnancy,interstitial pregnancy were higher than transabdominal ultrasound( P 0. 05). Conclusions Transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound are effective methods to diagnose and differentiate ectopic pregnancy,and transvaginal ultrasound had higher accuracy.
