Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of conventional treatment combined with Montelukast sodium in children with bronchiolitis. Methods A total of 88 children were randomly divided into observation group and control group( 44 in each). Children in the control group were given the conventional treatment, and then, children in the observation group were given administration of Montelukast sodium on the basis of conventional treatment. The clinical effect, symptoms and signs remission time and adverse reactions in the two groups were compared. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the duration of clinical symptoms such as pulmonary rales, coughing and wheezing in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group, and the differences were significant( P 0.05). Both groups represented adverse reactions in some degree, but the difference of adverse reaction occurrence rate in the two groups showed no significance( P 0. 05). Conclusion Montelukast sodium in treatment of children bronchiolitis based on conventional method could improve the therapeutic effect and shorten symptoms and signs remission time.
