Abstract

Silver salt was usually used as preservation in cut flower. But it contained a very high biological toxicity. The preserving effects of citric acid, sucrose and K2SO4 instead of Ag+ on Dianthus caryophyllus L. cut flower were studied. The results showed that all kinds of formula could prolong the life of cut flower. The treatment of 3% sucrose +100 mg / L K2SO4+ 60 mg / L citrate was the best and equivalent to the effects of Ag+.
