Abstract
Objective To study the efficacy and safety of reboxetine in the treatment of patients with depression in old age. Methods A total of 60 elderly patients with depression were randomly divided into reboxetine group(n=30) and doxepine(n=30) group for the treatment of 6 weeks.HAMD and TESS were used to assess the efficacy and side effects before and on the 1st,2~ nd ,4~ th and 6~ th weekend after the treatment. Results There was no significant difference in efficacy between the two groups.Total score and the factor-scores of HAMD in two groups were markedly decreased after treatment. No significant differences were observed between the two groups.Total score of TESS in reboxetine group was significantly lower than that of doxepine group.Conclu-sion Reboxetine is effective and safe for elderly patients with depression.
