Quality analysis of 23 450 outpatient prescriptions

Abstract

Objective To analyze the quality and problems of the outpatient prescriptions to give a guidance for clinical rational drug use.Methods A total of 23450 outpatient prescriptions were randomly selected as the research object.According to The Prescription Administrative Policy,The Management Standard of Hospital Prescription,drug package inserts and the published literature,the unqualified outpatient prescriptions were counted and analyzed on the basis of the non-standard prescriptions,inappropriate medication prescriptions,and off-label use prescriptions. Results Among the 23 450 checked prescriptions,22043(94%)were qualified,and 1407(6%)were unqualified.Conclusion It is necessary to improve the quality of outpatient prescriptions in our hospital.In order to improve the prescription quality and promote rational drug use,physician and pharmacist should improve their knowledge about drugs and the intervention measures by checking prescription and comment on prescription.
