Abstract

Objective To study the clinicopathological characteristics of gastrointestinal stromal tumor.Methods Immunohistochemical staining were used to determine the expression of CD117,CD34,Vimentin,S-100,Desmin in 54 cases of gastrointestinal stromal tumor. ResultsExpress of CD117,CD34,Vimentin,S-100,Desmin were found in 68.52%,88.89%,100%,7.4% and 18.52% of the tumor cases respectively.Conclusion Despite their similar light microscopic appearance, GIST are immunoophenotypically heterogeneous,requiring immunohistochemical for accurate characterization.
