Effect of telmisartan combined with amlodipine treating hypertension with early kidney damage in elderly people

Aim:To observe the effects of telmisartan combined with amlodipine treatming hypertension with kidney damage in elderly people.Methods:A total of 104 elderly patients with hypertension and urinary albumin(mALB) positive were randomly divided into two groups.The observation group was given amlodipine sustained-release tablets for 8 weeks and telmisartan tablets,and the control group only given amlodipine sustained-release tablets.The mALB level and blood pressure were determined before and after treatment.Results:The blood mALB and blood pressure in observation group significantly decreased compared with those of control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Telmisartan combined with amlodipine in treatment of hypertensive patients with mALB positive had better clinical efficacy than simply using amlodipine.
