Experimental Study of Fangji Huangqi Tang to Renal Interstitial Fibrosis

Abstract

Objective:Fangji Huangqi Tang is Chinese traditional medicine,used in renal diseases for thousands years.It has not studied whether it influence renal interstitial fibrosis.It include Fangji,Huangqi,Baishu,Gancao,Fangji and Huangqi,which can improve renal interstitial fibrosis,while Gancao is not reasonable in renal disease,because of increaseing edema and declining renal damage which caused by Guanmutong.It needs to be proved if Fangji Huangqi Tang can prevent the renal interstitial fibrosis,and the medicine of Fangji Huangqi Tang without Gancao has the same effect.Methods:Rats were given UUO to make the model of renal interstition fibrosis.The rats were treated by Fangji Huangqi Tang,and the medicine of Fangji Huangqi Tang without Gancao.Monopril were regrded as control.14 days later,the kidney samples of UUO were stained in HE and Masson.The expression of protein and mRNA of α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)and Fibronectin(Fn)were examined by immunohistochemical stain and by RT-PCR.Results:Fangji Huangqi Tang can reduce plasma urea nitrogen and increase plasma albumin of the rats of UUO significantly,meanwhile in improve the injury of the renal interstition significantly.The expression of both α-SMA and Fn decrease significantly treated by Fangji Huangqi Tang.Fangji Huangqi Tang without Galcao can also reduce the injury of the renal interstition and expression of protain and mRNA of α-SMA and Fn,moreover it seems that it could have better effect in renal interstition fibrosis.Conclusion:Fangji Huangqi Tang can prevent the renal interstitial fibrosis.Fangji Huangqi Tang without Gancao has the same effect,maybe it improve renal interstitiov fibrosis significantly compared with Fangji Huangqi Tang.
