Influencing Factors of Career Decision-Making of Nursing Undergraduate in Guangzhou

Objective To discuss the function of influencing factors of career decision-making of nursing undergraduates and to provide reference for adopting related measures to stabilize nursing staff.Methods A self-designed questionnaire was applied among 1 171 nursing undergraduates with stratified sampling.Results For nursing undergraduates with different genders and from different grades,their desire to be a nurse indicated no statistical significance and reactions among different influencing factors were not equal(P0.05).There was no statistical significance of the relationship between undergraduates' vocational values and their desire(P0.05).While there was no statistical significance of the relationship between family support of undergraduates in grade three or four and their desire(P0.05),there was positive relationship in undergraduates of grade one or two(P0.01 or P0.001).Meanwhile,there was positive relationship between social recognition and female students in grade one or two or four(P0.01 or P0.001);there was lightly positive relationship between personnel management and male students in grade one(r=0.278,P0.05) and there was significantly negative relationship between attractions from non-state-owned hospitals and male students in grade four(r=-0.619,P0.05).Conclusion During nursing students' career decision-making process,many factors such as family support,social recognition exert influence on their decision.Students with different gender and from different grade indicate variation as well.There is few influence of vocational values on students' decision-making.
