Abstract

Before 1789,Zhang Xuecheng has traced ancient prose(guwen) back into its original context,therefore taken Spring and Autumn Annals as its canon,which represents the creativity of ancient prose.However,his ideas and practices of ancient prose-writing during this period has not been paid enough attention to.This paper explores different factors of knowledge paradigm,which affect Zhang's world of ancient prose before 1798.
