The Clinical Efficacy of Leukotriene Receptor Antagonist Montelukast Treatment in Children with Severe Asthma

Objective To investigate the effect of leukotriene receptor antagonist montelukast sodium therapy in children with severe asthma. Methods 46 cases of severe asthmatic children were randomly divided into two groups, the control group received glucocorticoid treatment, and the experimental group received montelukast combined with glucocorticoids, the clinical effectwas compared. Results The treatment effect of experimental group was better than that of control group patients (P 0.05); the using frequency of emergency medicine of the experimental group was significantly lower compared with the control group, with significant difference (P 0.05). Conclusions The leukotriene receptor antagonist montelukast treatment in childrenwith severe asthma is a safe and effective therapy.
