Foreign Language Learners' Interlanguage and Foreign Language Teaching

The second language acquisition research began in the 1960s. Since the 1970s the research on inter-language has been the most important topic in this field. It is of great importance in the field of second language acquisition and foreign language learning. This paper briefly expounds on the signification, the major causes, the characteristics of foreign language learners' interlanguage as well as the implications of the interlanguage theory in practical application to TEFL in China.
