Abstract
This article has a comparatively overall discussion about interlanguage used by second/foreign language learners,exploring the definition of the concept,its characteristics,the formation of its system and the different stages of its development.It finally summarizes the significance of the study of interlanguage theory to foreign language learning theory and foreign language teaching.
