Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of different dose Baijiyuyang decoction on chronic non-specific ulcerative colitis(CUC).Methods 120 patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly devided into three groups, each including 40 patients.Low dose Baijiyuyang decoction group(n=40),middle dose Baijiyuyang decoction group(n=50) and high dose Baijiyuyang decoction group(n=30) received 200,400 and 600 mL Baijiyuyang decoction sub twice a day.The course was six weeks in three groups.the clinical efficacy, erythrocyte sedimentation rate,CRP and were observed after two courses. Results The total effective rate in middle dose Baijiyuyang decoction group and high dose Baijiyuyang decoction group was higher than that in low dose Baijiyuyang decoction group(P0.05).There was no significant difference between middle dose Baijiyuyang decoction group and high dose Baijiyuyang decoction group on the total effective rate(P0.05).Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and CRP after treatment were decreased in comparison with those before treatment in different groups(P0.05).Erythrocyte sedimentation rate and CRP in middle dose Baijiyuyang decoction group and high dose Baijiyuyang decoction group was higher than that in low dose Baijiyuyang decoction group(P0.05).Conclusion Middle-dose Baijiyuyang decoction has better therapeutic effect on the improvement of symptoms, occult blood and intestinal inflammation and decrease of erythrocyte sedimentation rate in patient of ulcerative colitis.Increasing doses does not increase the efficacy.
