Clinical Analyze of 48 Cases of Gluteal Muscle Contracture Treated with Operation

Objective To describe the experience and the result of release operation in the treament of gluteal muscle contracture. Methods The approach of longitudinal incision is used on gluteal region and contracted gluteal muscles being released thoroughly. The function exercise is offered 6 days later after the operation. Results After 6-48 months(average 17 months) follow-up of these 48 cases, 28 cases were excellent. 10 cases were good. 2 cases were general and 8 cases were bad. The overall excellent rate was 79.17%. And 2 cases with excess release, 8 cases with infection. Conclusion gluteal muscle contracture can be cured only by thoroughly release operation of contracted gluteal muscle. Better results can be received combined with timely and proper exercise.
