Protective effect of perarin on rats with type 2 diabetic nephropathy.

Abstract

Aim To evaluate the protective of effect of puerarin on rats with type 2 diabetic glomerulopathy.Methods SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group(group A),diabetes group(group B),diabetes group intervented with puerarin(group C).The type 2 diabetic rat model was made by high-sucrose-high-fat diet and a low dose of STZ(30mg/kg)was injected to them.The level of collagen Ⅳ protein were measured by immunhistological staining 24 weeks after experiment.Results In the diabetic rats,the level of collagen Ⅳ protein was increased significantly than that of the control group.The level of collagen Ⅳ protein expressed in C group was decresed significantly than that of B group.Conclusion Puerarin may possesses the effect of inhibiting expression of collagen Ⅳ protein and delaying the occurrence of diabetic nephropathy in the rats.
