On the Modernization of Chinese Education in Terms of Modernization of Culture

Modernization of Chinese education must depend on modernization of culture. The essence of modernization of Chinese education calls for the re-construction of ideology of educational culture,the essence of which depends in turn on what kind of modern people to be trained and what type of modern life to be molded in the course of cultural modernization. The basic belief of individual life to be formed by education shows the general feature of cultural tradition. In face of modernization,Chinese educational reform should keep a foothold in the primary values of Chinese culture on the one hand,which determines the under-paint and psychological structure of Chinese personality,and on the other,should put a bold face to intercourse between different cultures so that Chinese educational reform may not only improve education in China but also become an organic part of progress and development of the global culture.
