Diagnosis and treatment of knee gout arthritis under arthroscopy

Objective To explore the surgical treatment effect of knee gout arthritis under arthroscopy. Methods 18 patients of knee gout arthritis were undergone synovial membrane cleaning up, spar elimination under arthroscopy, and systematic drug therapy after operation. Results The symptoms of the 18 patients were relieved significantly. 2 cases got short term recurrence. All the patients acquired long term satisfactory therapeutic effect through a follow up of 6 to 24 months. Conclusions With the advantages of minimal trauma, simple way and good effect , arthroscopy has a superior value in the diagnosis and treatment of knee gout arthritis.
