Abstract
The hemp fiber was treated with explosion technology. The degumming property, chemical composition and physical-chemical properties were analysed by means of weight-loss method, infrared spectroscopy and degumming-loss percentage. The results showed that the per-centage of cellulose content of treated hemp fiber increased significantly while that of other non-cellulose reduced, especially lignin, which implied it was of nice degumming effect for hemp fiber by using the explosion treatment.Meanwhile, the infrared spectra indicated that there existed differences between the treated and untreated hemp fiber at1510cm -1 and1736cm -1 .The dye-ing ability of the degummed fiber was also improved.
