Abstract
Objective To explore the experience of augmentation of the nasal dorsum by using silastic implant combined with sculpture the nasal tip by using septal cartilage of nose. Methods Folding the nasal septal cartilage into 15~18mm×40mm by suture, and putting the cartilage strips into the medial crus of the bilateral lower lateral cartilage. By the way, it strengthened the support of the nasal columella and raised the stature of the nasal tip. If the degree wasn't high enough, the tip with a shield-shaped cartilage was reconstructed, which was of the surplus septal cartilage and auricular cartilage. Nasal dorsum with an I-shaped silastic implant was used. Results 21 patients with this technique were all successful. The effects were well after 1~12 months without complications. Conclusion To augment nose by using an I-shaped silastic implant combined with sculpture the nasal tip with the nasal septal cartilage is suit to the anatomic structure and reduce the complications, to avoid the nasal linkage and to make the nose become natural and real.
