Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of the traditional Chinese medicine complex, ferulic acid compound, on heat shock protein 70 in rats with cerebral ischemia reperfusion. Methods Experimental cerebral ischemia reperfusion in rats was made by occluding the two vessel and bleeding from tails. The expression of HSP70 was assessed by immunostaining method, histopathological analysis of rat brain was also studied. Results No HSP70 expression was found in non ischemic brain tissue, ferulic acid compound can increase the HSP70 expression significantly compared with that of cerebral ischemia rats, and ferulic acid compound can alleviate cerebral ischemic changes histopathologically. Conclusion Ferulic acid compound increase HSP70 expression and alleviate cerebral ischemic changes histopathologically , it has neuroprotective effect against ischemia reperfusion brain injury.
