Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole combined with fluvoxamine for childhood-obsessive compulsive disorder(COCD).Methods Fifty-seven kids with COCD were randomized to fluvoxamine group(control group,n=30,fluvoxamine 200-300mg/d),and aripiprazole combined with fluvoxamine group(observation group,n=27,fluvoxamine 200-300mg/d,aripiprazole 10-20mg/d),treated for 8weeks.The efficacy and adverse reactions were assessed, before and after medication, using Yale-Brown obsessive-compulsive psychiatrists rating scale(Y-BOCS)and Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA).The side effects were assessed using the treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS).Results Before medication, the differences of score of Y-BOCS and HAMA between the two groups were not significant(P0.05).After treatment, the Y-BOCS and HAMA scores in the observation group were lower than that in the control, the difference being significant(t=2.433,2.318;P0.05).The difference of TESS was not significant between the two groups. Conclusion Aripiprazole combined with fluvoxamine is effective and safe for patients with COCD.
