Effects of Rosuvastatin on Plasma levels of ICAM-1 and hs-CRP in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

Abstract

Objective:To observe the effects of Rosuvastatin on plasma levels of Intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1) and Hi-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome(ACS).Methods:96 patients of acute coronary syn-drome were selected and separated into two groups randomly:statin group and routine group.The patients in statin group were treated with Rosuvastain 10 mg/day besides conventional therapy,the patients in routine group were treated only with conventional therapy.The change of ICAM-1,and hs-CRP were measured before and after 4 weeks treatment.Results:The plasma levels of Low density lipopro-tein-cholesterol(LDL-C),ICAM-1 and hs-CRP in statin group were decreased significantly(P0.01 or P0.05)after 4 weeks.the plasma levels of LDL-C,ICAM-1 and hs-CRP in statin group were lower than routine group after 4 weeks treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:Treat-ments with Rosuvastatin could reduce the levels of ICAM-1 and hs-CRP and improved the function of coagulation system by the non-lipid-lowering with the lipid-lowering,thus it promotes the stabilization of atherosclerotic plaque.
