Abstract

With the fixed line transect and point sampling methods, the avian community structure and diversity in Yinna Mountain Nature Reserve of Guangdong were investigated from October 2012 to September 2013. Results showed that the recorded birds of 175 species belonged to 125 genera, 42 families and 14 orders, of which 19 species were listed as national II grade protected species, and one as national I grade protected species. According to type of resident or migrant, 34 species were summer migrants, 52 were winter migrants, 78 were residents, and 11 species were passage migrants. Based on zoogeographical regions, 67 species were Palaearctic birds, 65 were Oriental birds, and 43 were widespread. In general, there were 32 dominant species in the reserve, while the diversity index, dominance index and evenness were 4.3929, 0.0204 and 0.8506, respectively.
