Abstract

A preparation method of water-soluble paper/plastic laminating adhesive is introduced. The main raw materials are butyl acrylate, styrene, acrylic acid and crosslinking functional monomer. The polymerization process is monomer pre-emulsified and seed emulsion polymerization method. The effect of the selection and proportioning of monomers on the emulsion performance and paper/plastic lamination, the influence of emulsifier on the emulsion stability and the effect of the initiator on the monomer conversion have been discussed. The results showed that the best ratio of soft and hard monomer butyl acrylate to styrene is 1.6~2.3∶1.The optimal dosage of emulsifier and initiator is 0.98% and 0.60% of total monomer's mass respectively. The prepared emulsion has delicate particle size, high solid content, moderate viscosity and excellent stability.
