Abstract

Objectives:To establish a framework for holistic nursing in clinical teaching,reform the clinical teaching content, teaching method and evaluation method; And to establish clinical teaching quality management system. Method: Explore and implement the holistic nursing teaching model among 280 student nurses who were performing nursing practice in the hospital. The model includes:setting up the advanced nursing education philosophy and served as guideline, establishing good clinical teaching base, constructing effective teaching organization structure, making the teaching plan, instructing students using nursing process to provide optimal nursing care to the patients, emphasizing on the training of communication skill and patient teaching ability, modifying the evaluation method, etc. Results: Through 6 years' implementation and continuous improvement of this teaching model,the deucational objectives of student's ability of practising holistic nursing were fulfilled.And the teachers' ability were also strengthened.
