Relationship of high risk type HPV infection and the expression of COX-2 and Survivin in cervical squamous cell carcinoma in patients with bacterial infection

Abstract

Objective To explore the expression of COX-2,Survivin in tissues of cervical squamous cell carcinoma and their relationship with HPV16/18 infection.Methods 80 tissue specimens of cervical squamous cell carcinoma,as experimental group,and 20 of normal cervical mucosa,as normal controls,were detected for the infection of HPV16/18 by in situ hybridization,and for the expression of COX-2 and Survivin by immunohistochemical technique.Results The positive rates of HPV16/18,COX-2 and Survivin in cervical carcinoma were higher than in normal cervical mucosa.There was positive correlation between HPV16/18 and the expression levels of COX-2 and Survivin in cervical carcinoma.Conclusion The abnormal expressions of COX-2 and Survivin are correlated with up-regulated HPV16/18 infection and the canceration level of cervical carcinoma.COX-2 and Survivin may be significant detections for the screening and prognosis of cervical carcinoma.
