Abstract
Objective To compare and evaluate diagnostic role of various imaging manifestation in the urinary tract obstruction. Methods 23 cases with urinary tract obstruction underwent B-ultrasound scanning, intravenous phelography(IVP), retrograde urography, CT scanning and magnetic resonance urography (MRU), and their findings were compared. Results B-ultrasound showed hydronephrosis in 15 cases of them, IVP provide for poor renal image in 7 cases. CT showed hydronephrosis in all 8 examined cases. MRU produced a good image in all cases. Conclusions Both B-ultrasound and IVP can be used as a first choice imaging for diagnosis of ureteral obstruction, MRU has the advantages of non-invasiveness, no ionizing radiation and could show the nonfunctional renal collecting tubules system.So it has important diagnotic value in congenital urinary tract obstruction of children.
