Analysis on Immediacy Index of Library,Information and Documentation Science Academic Journals——Based on CSSCI(2004—2008)

Immediacy Index is the index for characterizing instant reaction rate of periodicals,used for describing the situation of papers published in natural science periodicals cited in that same year.However,the citation peak of humanities and social sciences papers moves forward,the direct application of the index has certain shortcoming.The paper chooses 49 kinds of Library,Information and Documentation Science academic periodicals as the research objects,and gains the data from CSSCI(2004-2008),to arrange for these periodicals and describe the trend of the periodicals,by data statistics and quantitative analysis of the corrected immediacy index,which is an important quantitative indicator for citing analysis,the paper reveals their academic reaction sensitivity,indicates their academic level and status in the subject,and attempts to induct the benign development of the periodicals in this discipline and promote academic exchanges.
