Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between male infertility and abnormal chromosome karyotypes.Methods: Giemsa banding chromosome analysis was done in 1124 cases of male infertility for routine cytogenetic analysis.Results:There were 121 cases of abnormal karyotypes which is 10.77% in all examiners.They included 49 cases of Klinefelter′s syndrome which was 40.5% in all abnormal karyotypes;There were 35 cases of Y chromosome abnormal morphology which were 28.9% in chromosome abnormalities;They included 14 cases of chromosome polymorphism changes which were 11.6% in all abnormal karyotypes.There were 2 cases with chromosome inversion which were 1.7% in all abnormal karyotypes;17 cases with balanced translocation were checked out,which were 14.0% in chromosome abnormalities;There were 4 cases of chromosome chimeare which were 3.3% in all abnormal karyotypes.Conclusion: The abnormality of chromosome karyotype should be one of the basic reasons of male infertility.Cytogenetics analysis to male infertility can provide aids on the diagnosis and treatment of infertility couples.
