Abstract

Objective:Analysis the difference between carotid atherosclerosis(CAS) and femoral atherosclerosis(FAS).Methods:The bilateral carotid and femoral arteries in 205 subjects were detected with echocardiography. All the subjects were divided into normal group and coronary-artery-disease group(CAD).Risk factors of CAS were analysed by age, body mass indexs, blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),sex, smoking history, family history of CAD.Results:IMT,β and Ep were higher in femoral artery than in carotid artery;the CAS prevalence was significantly higher than FAS prevalence in CAD group;multi-factor analysis showed that the risk factors of CAD were age, blood glucose, coronary history and carotid IMT.Conclusion:Between carotid and femoral artery, difference was exist in artery IMT,β,Ep,AS prevalence.Carotid IMT was high risk factor of CAD.
