Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and antibiotic resistance of pathogens isolated from blood culture samples from Oct 2010 to Oct 2011,and to provide basis for clinical rational utilization of antibiotics.METHODS The blood samples were collected and cultured by BACETC 9120 automated blood culture system, and the positive samples were identified by the traditional routine procedures.Bacterial susceptibility test were carried out by K-B method.RESULTS A total of 258 strains of pathogens were isolated from blood culture samples, including 139 strains of gram-positive bacteria,113 strains of gram-negative bacteria and 6 strains of fungi. The isolation rates of Escherichia coli(27.52%),Staphylococcus epidermidis(24.42%) and S.aureus(14.34%) were the highest.S.epidermidis and S.aureus were resistant to penicillin and erythromycin, but susceptible to vancomycin.E.coli strains were resistant to ampicillin, but susceptible to piperacillin, sulperazon and ceftazidime. The fungi were resistant to flucytosine, but susceptible to amphotericin B,fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole, and nystatin.CONCLUSION The blood cultured pathogens are highly drug resistant. It is necessary to understand the blood culture result in a timely manner so as to use antibiotics reasonably and improve the cure rate of the patients.
