Abstract
Yu Dafu's novel writing shows distinctive style of aesthetics, whose feature is dreary melancholy. His works are famous for the creation of tragic images and the description of the inner bitterness and natural scenery. Such kind of his writing style is partly the outcome of the influence of foreign literature. The outstanding Russian writer Turgenev whose writing he showed great admiration affected him a lot. They are similar in experience, personality, times and social environment.
