Yu Dafu and British Sentimentalism

Yu Dafu's fiction displays a special kind of aesthetics style. This kind of aesthetics style, which is featured by melancholy and sentiment, was determined on one hand by the author's temperament and esthetic choice, and on the other hand, it was a result of Yu Dafu receiving foreign literature's influence, especially receiving British Sentimentalism's influence. Sentimental literature exerted a subtle influence on Yu Dafu's esthetic interest and writing style.
