Abstract
The blood retest results of 11326 unpaid blood donors who passed the rapid alanine aminotransferase(ALT) preliminary screening using the dry biochemical analyzer at the blood station of Zengcheng of Guangzhou blood center in 2013 were statistically investigated and compared with those in 2012 when the ALT preliminary screening was not implemented. Results showed that the dry chemical method for the ALT preliminary screening of blood donors before blood donation could greatly reduce the blood discard caused by higher ALT value. Dry biochemical analyzer has the advantages of simple operation, reliability, higher practical value and is very suitable for small blood stations.
