Abstract

Objective: To test and verify the clinical effect of Shexiang Baoxin Pill (SXBXP) and Isosorbide Dinitrate in reducing the clinical symptom of stable angina pectoris and their effects on the blood pressure, pulse pressure and heart rate of patients before and after reducing the clinical symptom of stable angina pectoris. Methods: One hundred patients of stable angina pectoris were randomly and blindly assigned to the study group (55 cases) and the control group (45 cases). Eight to ten pills of SXBXP and 10mg to 20mg Isosorbide Dinitrate were given to each case of the two groups and sucked under the tongue while the patients were treated by the routine treatment. Results: Both SXBXP and Isosorbide Dinitrate could significantly reduce the clinical symptom of stable angina pectoris without any remarkable difference ( P 0.05) between two groups. SXBXP shows no remarkable difference in the blood pressure, pulse pressure and heart rate of patients before and after reducing the clinical symptom of stable angina pectoris ( P 0.05). Conclusion: Both SXBXP and Isosorbide Dinitrate can significantly reduce the symptom of stable angina pectoris, but SXBXP is safer and has fewer side effects.
